Monte Grappa is not far from my home. Near Monte Grappa there is the BIG 726 Passo Tomba. But I dont think to go, because it is much hard for me.

But if you came, please write me

Hello Jerry,
We are very similar in our interest. You did the Ötztaler radmarathon - I plan this for this year, and also I told / wrote to my friends (maybe in the hungarian BIG forum) the link of MOnte Grappa challenge while I'm interested in it, but I wait for the english version.
Do you have english information about it ?
(timelimit , food during the route ? Is it similar to a bicyclemarathon or a brevet (no food but you have to collect the stamps) ?
Are the number of participants limited ?

Thanks: Gabor

PS: You collect the cols above 1700m, while I collect every paved road going above 2000m :-)

Yes, I hope more will want to travel like this (I think this is the best way to spend a vacation).

The Monte Grappa Challenge is apparently organised as a Brevet and it has no time taking, which would have been fun, but you can take the time on your own, I guess. Still you need a cycling license.

I have not read up on the details yet (and I also do not understand much Italian, but there are translation services on the web - had to use Google translation to book the hotel many of the cyclists will use). I do not know exactly how the control you have been at all ends, but guess there is either a person there or you have to get a stamp (but unlikely ...). I guess they have food at Monte Grappa (I saw it in some photos from last year) and that would probably be enough for me, but hopefully they have a few more places. The longest brevet that I decided to take part in include a second day where we take part in the La Pinarello gran fondo race - guess there will be time taking there, but Ivan (main organiser for the Challenge) suggested he wanted us to go all together in that race - it might well be ok with me given the long day before it (but I do not know how good the other guys are ... so maybe I am in for a surprise albino ).

Now I am collecting all asphalt passes above 1600m Very Happy - we'll see ... . I will not continue like that much further down for sure though ... (too many boring lower passes). /Jerry
